About Zoé Orfanos Writes
Zoé Orfanos is a Killarney-based poet and writer. She earned her master’s degree in creative writing at Trinity College Dublin and spent a year of her undergraduate studying English Language Literature at Oxford. Zoé has been a poet for over fifteen years with a focus on social justice, disability, and gender. Her debut poetry collection, An Elegy for Old Terrors, was published by BleakHouse Publishing, a non-profit press that specializes in issues of incarceration and prison reform in the United States. Most recently, Zoé was published in Issue 5 of Ragaire Literary Magazine and was selected for the Dublin International Literary Festival’s Date with an Agent 2026. Zoé seeks to promote local authors through workshops and writing groups, and above all to cultivate the understanding that words matter.

(The esteemed author is pictured here reading in a tree. Shortly before this photo was taken, she was heard telling her father the she only climbed trees in order to read in them. Zoé is still very fond of both trees and reading.)
